Follow those few steps to install your eSIM. You can do it now if you are at your destination or on the day of your departure.

1/ Make sure you are connected

eSIM installation needs an internet connection (WiFi or 4G/5G)

2/ Scan the QRCode

eSIM installation can take up to 2 minutes

3/ Enable Data Roaming

In the eSIM settings, enable Data Roaming if it’s not already on
Tips icon To avoid roaming charges billed by your domestic carrier, check the Cellular Data options of your regular SIM and turn off Data Roaming before you travel!

More details on installation process

Prerequisite: check the compatibility of your device, and make sure you are connected (Wifi or 4G/5G) before downloading your eSIM.

The installation process is very simple, as all you have to do is scan the QR code you received by email and follow the steps suggested by your smartphone. But we will go into more detail below, so you never get stuck.

NB : Disregard SMS messages received from our partners (Orange or Bouygues)

  • 🧳 Before you leave
    • Make sure you are connected (Wifi or 4G/5G) before scanning your QR code.
    • Scan the QR code either from the camera app or from Settings / Mobile Service / Add eSIM / Use QR code.
    • In Settings / Mobile Service / your usual SIM card, deactivate Data Roaming
  • 🛬 Arriving at your destination
    • Exit airplane mode. If you are asked for a PIN code, enter 0000.
    • Go to Settings / Mobile Service / Mobile Data and choose to use your eSIM.
    • In Settings / Mobile Service, select your eSIM and activate Data Roaming.
    • During your trip, you can track your data usage. If you received a link in the e-mail with your eSIM, you can click on it to track your consumption.
    • Otherwise, you can track your usage in your eSIM’s settings (Mobile Service / Abroad over period).
  • 🛫 On your way home
    • In Settings / Mobile Service, select your eSIM then Delete eSIM. When iPhone asks if you wish to update contacts, click Yes.

  • 🧳 Before you leave
    • Make sure you are connected (Wifi or 4G/5G) before downloading your eSIM.
    • Scan the QR code either from the camera app, or from Settings / Connections / SIM manager / Add e-SIM / Scan QR code.
    • In SIM manager, click on Mobile data and select eSIM.
  • 🛬 Arriving at your destination
    • Exit airplane mode. If you are asked for a PIN code, enter 0000.
    • Go to Settings / Connections / Mobile networks / Activate data roaming.
    • During your trip, you can track your data usage. If you received a link in the e-mail with your eSIM, you can click on it to track your consumption.
    • Otherwise, you can track your usage in your eSIM’s settings (Mobile Service / Abroad over period).
  • 🛫 On your way home
    • In Settings / SIM manager / Mobile data, reset your SIM to default.
    • Then click on eSIM simpleSIM, click on Delete and confirm.

  • 🧳 Before you leave
    • Make sure you are connected (Wifi or 4G/5G) before downloading your eSIM.
    • Scan the QR code from the camera or from Settings / Network & Internet / SIMs / Add SIM then Set up an eSIM. Then click on Set up when prompted.
    • In Settings / Network & Internet / SIMs , click on your usual SIM and uncheck “roaming”.
  • 🛬 Arriving at your destination
    • Exit airplane mode. If you are asked for a PIN code, enter 0000.
    • Go to Settings / Network & Internet / SIMs , tick the new eSIM, a “Set your SIM preferences” menu appears, click “Get started”, rename the eSIM (optional) then click “Next”. In the “Set your primary SIMs” screen, click on “Mobile data” and choose the new eSIM in place of your usual SIM, then “Done”.
    • Click again on the new eSIM on the next screen and activate Roaming.
    • During your trip, you can track your data usage. If you received a link in the e-mail with your eSIM, you can click on it to track your consumption.
    • Otherwise, you can track your usage in your eSIM’s settings (Mobile Service / Abroad over period).
  • 🛫 On your way home
    • In Settings / Network & Internet / SIMs , uncheck your eSIM to deactivate it, then click on your eSIM, and then on “Delete eSIM” to remove it permanently.
